Just a small update on how things have been going.
LIFESCHOOL

Just finished another summer class and thought why not let everyone know how I am doing this semester. English class was really fun and helped me find my excitement for writing again. I know this has been kind of something that I wanted to get back into and it forced my hand.
Now for those of you who do not know, I attend Arizona State University, specifically the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. I have been going here for almost a year after finishing my IT transfer certificate at a local community college. Thus far my experience has been great as I am Computer Science Engineering major.
School has been challenging at times but yet fun at the same time. Besides an English class, I also took an Assembly Language class. Now let me say this, I have taken Python, Java, and C++ classes before but boy was this something different. I feel more appreciative for the ladder languages I just named as those as known as high level languages while Assembly or MIPS is known as a low-level language.
This has taught me so much more on how a computer actually functions. Understanding how the processor takes instructions and works with the ALU to complete instructions. Now if that sounded like mumbo jumbo I know how you feel because that was me a few months ago. But this assembly language class built on a previous class that I took, Digital Design Fundamentals.
These late nights doing homework or study sessions really has just shown me how much school has changed. Growing up school was well school not much to it but there was not as much technology included. Mind you, I am class of 2013 so a little behind on where I want to be college wise but that is what the Military will do for you. I say that because Discord, something that we all associate with gaming is something I have used plenty in my time at ASU. Atleast one class per semester there is a discord for students to chat and hang out and as an online student I really appreciate it.
I guess the message I am trying to get across today is don't wait, if you are deciding on whether or not school is for you just try it. If you don't like your major well you are in charge and can change it as many times as you need. I have 10+ years of experience in the field that I specialize in but school just brings such a different perspective on this subject. Well, my 10+ years has mostly been RF or Electrical based in some way which is why I chose this major. Get a different flavor of something that ties into what i am passionate about.
